Abstract
Silver nanoparticles (Ag-NPs) are prepared by using coprecipitation method using silver nitrate solution and trisodium citrate (C6H5Na3O7-2H2O). The nanoparticles are characterized by UV-VIS spectrophotometry, FTIR Spectrometry, Particle Size Analyzer and Zeta Potential. The peak intensity at 405 nm in UV-VIS Spectra is enhanced, indicating the reduction of large amount of silver ions to the metallic silver nanoparticles in Sodium Citrate (SC). The Ag-NPs are found to be of ~ 5.5 nm size and having a Zeta Potential of be -44.6 mV with an electrophoretic mobility of -0.000346 cm2/Vs. Ag-NPs prepared in this study are highly stable, mobile and can used in cancer treatments such as brain tumor and breast cancer.
