Performance of sound transmission on neocrete blocks using statistical energy analysis

Neocrete blocks or bricks are suitable form of material available for construction. The material is light in weight, but considered to be a heavy weight in construction because of its versatility and good material properties. This work describes the characteristic features of sound transmission through neocrete block walls. In this study, 10cm thick neocrete block or brick wall has been built and the respective sound reduction index and their loss factors has been observed. Sound reduction index has been greatly influenced by their lightweight nature both at low and high frequencies.
