Abstract
The Electric Vehicle (EV) disruption in the auto-motive market is quite evident in the present times. Functional safety is the prime requirement of the automotive market which have been achieved throughout the design and development of control board. The Power management integrated circuit (PMIC) is a System on a Chip (SoC) solution that have been used in the developed control board to meet the higher Automotive Safety Integrity Level (ASIL). This paper also focuses on addressing the different control aspect requirements for EV applications by utilizing the advantages of Digital Signal Processor (DSP) and Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). The advantages of digital power electronics control for high power density converters using soft Intel FPGA Intellectual Property (IP) cores are discussed.
