WAVE DIRECTIONS IN A GROIN FIELD

The time series of the onshore-offshore and the alongshore velocities obtained at different locations within a groin held and at a deeper location have been analysed for wave directionality. For this purpose, seven different available methods along with a methodology proposed in this paper have been adopted to draw a comparative study, the results of which are presented and discussed in this paper. The variation of wave direction inside the groin field at a particular time and its variation along the depth are studied. The general wave climate and the flow characteristics in the groin field are also reported.
