Abstract
This paper details the studies on abrasive waterjet machining of black granite through design of experiments. Significant parameters are determined using the analysis of variance. The influences of pressure, traverse rate, abrasive flow rate for specially formulated abrasive samples with three different abrasive particle size distributions have been studied. The target parameters are top kerf width, bottom kerf width, and kerf taper. The response equations that are based on these studies can be employed to predict the target parameters.
