The dilatation anomaly for the non-relativistic Landau problem

Unlike the action for a charged point particle interacting with a magnetic point vortex, the action for the Landau problem is not invariant under dilatations (t→e-ρ{variant}t). The Ward identity for the (broken) dilatation symmetry is shown to be anomalous and this is confirmed by computing the equal time commutator [dD(0)/dt, χi(0)] using the BJL approach. © 1992.
