Abstract
In the crystal structure of the title compound, 2C3H 7N6+·C4H4O 62-·2.5H2O, the melaminium ions form infinite tapes via N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds. The tartrate anions, lying on twofold rotation axes, are arranged in linear arrays. The crystal packing is stabilized by an extensive net of hydrogen bonds leading to a supramolecular architecture. © 2006 International Union of Crystallography All rights reserved.
