Abstract
Fibre Reinforced Plastics occupy prominant place as high performance engineering materials. This is made possible due to the enhancement of their physical properties such as fatigue strength, stiffness, thermal resistance and other allied factors. In spite of the near net shape obtained by FRP moulding techniques, these composites require finish machining to achieve the required dimensional accuracy, surface quality and other functional qualities. This paper highlights machinability of FRP Composites. Machining data using P20 tools have been illustrated. Apart from the mechanism of surface production, type of tool wear and the associated mechanism have been illustrated with Scanning Electron Micrographs.
