Abstract
Here, we report high performance supercapacitors with graphite nanoplatelets (GNP) as carbon support for hydrous RuO2 (25 weight%) nanoparticles and worms like polyaniline (PANI-50 weight%) nanostructures. Maximum specific capacitances of 308 and 425 F g(-1) are observed for RuO2-GNP and PANI-GNP nanocomposites, respectively with aqueous electrolyte (1 M H2SO4) at high discharge current density of 10 A g(-1). Maximum energy densities of 21.5 and 19.1 Wh kg(-1) are observed for RuO2-GNP and PANI-GNP supercapacitor assemblies, respectively, at high power densities of 2.5 and 2 kW kg(-1), respectively. Excellent retentions of more than 99 and 95% for RuO2-GNP and PANI-GNP, respectively, are observed for capacitances and energy densities, even at four times higher discharge current density and power density.
