Abstract
Tissue characterization is a method used for identification of abnormalities in two-dimensional B-scan. The authors present the changes in texture characteristics due to noise and methods of normalization and noise estimation in clinical ultrasound images. Results are given of an application of the technique to identify abnormalities in renal scans.
