- PublicationModified widely linear filter for simultaneous multi-impairment compensation(01-01-2021)
;Yadav, Rekha ;Venkatasubramani, Lakshmi Narayanan; We present a modified w idely l inear s ingle-tap b lind e qualizer f or t he joint multi-impairment compensation of polarization mixing, IQ Imbalance and transceiver phase noise, analyze its performance through simulation and experiments for 32Gbaud PM-16QAM transmission. - PublicationPhase-Sensitive Amplification in a Dispersion Oscillating Fiber with Two Pumps(01-01-2021)
;Chatterjee, Debanuj ;Konyukhov, Andrey ;Sysoliatin, AlexejPropagation of two pumps and degenerate signal in a dispersion oscillating fiber (DOF) is investigated analytically and numerically. Unlike the single-pump case, the gain sidebands are found to be influenced by the generated high-order pumps. - PublicationHigh-resolution technique for simultaneous measurement of phase noise of multiwavelength optical systems(29-08-2013)
;Anthur, A. P.A technique is proposed and demonstrated to simultaneously measure the phase noise of four-wave mixing components, using a combination of heterodyning and delayed self-heterodyning techniques. © The Institution of Engineering and Technology 2013. - PublicationInvestigation of temporal dynamics leading to self mode-locking in Tm3+ doped fiber ring lasers(14-09-2020)
;Basak, Rajat Kumar ;Anjali, P. S. ;Kaviya, D. ;Srivastava, Manas; We experimentally study the time-dynamics of passive self-mode locking phenomena in a Thulium-doped fiber ring laser operating at ∼ 1976 nm wavelength pumped with 1550 nm. - PublicationExperimental Investigation of Visible Light Communication using PPM Modulated 532nm DPSS Laser(01-01-2021)
;Subramaniyam, C. N.Siva ;Dixit, Awakash ;Mishra, Kanhaiya; We experimentally demonstrate visible light communication (VLC) with PPM modulated 532 nm DPSS laser for link loss upto ~78 dB while supporting bit rates up to 120 kbps and BER better than 1e-6. - PublicationDemonstration of all-optical clock recovery from NRZ-PM-QPSK and PM-16QAM signals(01-01-2019)
;Srivastava, Manas ;Lakshmi Narayanan, V.; We demonstrate all-optical clock recovery from optical NRZ-PM-QPSK and NRZ-PM-16QAM data at 10 Gbaud after 60 km fiber propagation, through injection-locking of an Erbium-doped fiber laser. - PublicationInvestigation of line broadening scheme dependence on coherent beam combination efficiency(01-01-2019)
;Linslal, C. L. ;Sooraj, M. S. ;Panbiharwala, Y. ;Padmanabhan, A. ;Dixit, A.; We report our investigations on the influence of line broadening schemes on the visibility of the coherently combined laser beams. - PublicationPolarization Insensitive Phase Conjugation Using Single-Pump Four Wave Mixing in SOA(02-07-2018)
;Sobhanan, Aneesh ;Lakshmi Narayanan, V. ;Koilpillai, DavidWe experimentally demonstrate the generation of polarization insensitive phase conjugate of PM-QPSK signal in both input and output ports of SOA using partially degenerate four wave mixing with pump power of only 4 dBm. - PublicationPolarization insensitive all-optical wavelength conversion of polarization multiplexed signals using co-polarized pumps(30-05-2016)
;Anthur, Aravind P. ;Zhou, Rui ;O'Duill, Sean ;Walsh, Anthony J. ;Martin, Eamonn; Barry, Liam P.We study and experimentally validate the vector theory of four-wave mixing (FWM) in semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOA). We use the vector theory of FWM to design a polarization insensitive all-optical wavelength converter, suitable for advanced modulation formats, using non-degenerate FWM in SOAs and parallelly polarized pumps. We demonstrate the wavelength conversion of polarization-multiplexed (PM)-QPSK, PM-16QAM and a Nyquist WDM super-channel modulated with PM-QPSK signals at a baud rate of 12.5 GBaud, with total data rates of 50 Gbps, 100 Gbps and 200 Gbps respectively. - PublicationPump Correlation Requirements for Four Wave Mixing-Based Phase Quantization Schemes(02-07-2018)
;Sobhanan, Aneesh ;Iyer, Arjun Natarajan ;Anthur, Aravind P. ;Barry, Liam P.We demonstrate the experimental results of phase noise measurements on the coherent addition of signal and conjugate in a four wave mixing-based two-level phase quantizer and illustrate the requirement of the anti-correlation between the pumps.
