Effect of DC Field and X†Irradiation on the Optical Absorption and Thermoluminescence of NaCl Single Crystals

Optical absorption and thermoluminescence of NaCl single crystals X‐irradiated at 300 and 373 K in presence of moderately large dc fields (≈ 0 to 15kV/cm) are reported. With de field the F‐band peak shifts to lower wavelength side and the overall colour center concentration is observed to increase. An attempt is made to analyse the shift in the F‐band.
