Abstract
The steady state equations of a current source inverter fed doubly fed induction machine (CSI fed DFIM) are deduced. The CSI fed DFIM works as a nonsallent synchronous machine. The load characteristics of the system are drawn. In the dynamic analysis the system is made to work in synchronous and asynchronous mode. The asynchronous mode of operation is useful in starting. While the synchronous mode is more stable at full load conditions. The stability of the system in both the modes is varified using root locus plots. Various transfer functions are deduced.
