Continuous review (s, S) inventory system with random lifetimes and positive leadtimes

This paper analyzes an (s, S) perishable system with Poisson demands and exponentially distributed leadtimes for items with exponential lifetimes. Demands occurring during stock-out periods are lost. The steady-state operating characteristics are obtained explicitly and the analytical properties of the long-run expected cost rate are discussed. © 1994.
