Abstract
Electron paramagnetic resonance of copper(II) doped in monocrystals of potassium oxalate monohydrate gives spin Hamiltonian parameters consistent with a dx2-y2 ground state for the complex. There are two magnetically inequivalent sites with identical g and A tensors. It has been proved that the Cu(II) has entered the lattice as an oxalate moiety rather than in a substitutional K+ site. Charge compensation has very little effect in orienting the tensors in the lattice. © 1974.
