Abstract
Numerical modelling is being used extensively for solving Saint Venant equations of unsteady free surface flows. A general two-dimensional hydraulic flow routing model, formulated using MacCormack time splitting scheme, has been used to route several flood events of Narmada river. Formulation of the computational model, and results of the numerical modelling are presented, and the comparative analysis with the field data has shown good agreement.
