Abstract
A more realistic theoretical solution to the problem of artesian well flow is developed taking into consideration the partial penetration of the well and the finiteness of its radius. The aquifer is assumed to be homogeneous, anisotropic, confined between horizontal, impervious boundaries, and bounded laterally by a recharge boundary of uniform radius. Important results of the analysis are discussed both in the transient and the steady states of flow with reference to the solutions of the previous investigators. © 1978.
