Abstract
Orthodontic tipping and rotation of teeth, is governed by the centres of rotation and axes of rotation. A precise knowledge of the centres and axes of rotation would be of great help to the orthodontist in predicting and controlling the magnitude of tooth movement through a proper choice and application of the appropriate force systems. This paper studies tooth displacements using a physical model and a simple laser speckle interferometric technique.
