Abstract
This paper describes the design features, constructional details and experimental procedures pertaining to an apparatus for measurement of diffusion coefficients in liquefied inert gases. The diaphragm cell method is used. Continuous monitoring of diffusion of a radioactive tracer in a stainless steel cell is done using a scintillation counting system. Temporal and spatial uniformities of temperature within ±0.03 K are ensured. Mathematical processing of data and some preliminary results on diffusion of Kr-85 in liquid argon in the temperature range of 85 to 103 K and pressures close to saturation are presented. © 1987, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
