Abstract
Adsorption isotherms and heats of adsorption of benzene, n-hexane and cyclohexane on silica gel have been determined in the temperature range 180°–235 °C using the technique of gas chromatography. In each case a break was observed in the plot of log (retention volume) vs 1/T and the adsorption isobar was also discontinuous. These facts are explained on the basis of adsorption occurring in pores of different size-ranges. © 1972, Walter de Gruyter. All rights reserved.
