Abstract
A direct and reasonably accurate method of obtaining an electrical signal proportional to the angular acceleration is of immense interest in the design of feedback control systems. The 2-phase drag-cup motor is widely used as an angular accelerometer. In this letter we propose a new method of determining the electrical parameters of a 2-phase drag-cup accelerometer and show that our method is superior to an earlier method. © 1967, The Institution of Electrical Engineers.
