Abstract
The authors describe a method of processing radar signals that results in effective suppression of strong clutter regions. The results have been achieved by processing the radar signals with magnitude group delay (MGD) processor, rather than the usual 3-pulse canceller plus DFT filter bank. In the field of Doppler detection, simulation results indicate that in cases where a 3-pulse canceller plus DFT processor fails, the MGD processor is able to detect a Doppler signal very close to clutter. The results also indicate that the MGD processor has better resolution capability.
