Sleeved column system

The experiments conducted on a core loaded sleeve column system was discussed. Inevestigations show that the sleeve column system could sustain loads equal to Euler buckling strength of the sleeve. It was found that the strength of the core loaded system could be as high the lowest of the core yield strength and Euler buckling strength. Economical evaluation of the system shows that considerable economy could be obtained from the core loaded sleeved column systems in small and intermediate slenderless ratio ranges.
