Abstract
The preparation and characterisation of Ag2CdI4 thin films by vacuum evaporation technique are discussed. Electrical conductivity studies have been carried out on the films in the temperature range 30°C to 100°C. The conductivity at room temperature (30°C) is of the order of 10-6 (ohm cm)-1 and above 80°C the conductivity value is 10-3 (ohm cm)-1. Electronic absorption studies carried out at room temperature and liquid nitrogen temperature show the presence of a forbidden internal transition in Ag+ ion, an exciton state and a broad band due to silver aggregates. © 1983.
